Both Men and Women are enjoying smooth, pristine hair-free skin....... - a benefit that only Electrolysis can offer! As a premier method of hair removal, the achieved results works wonders for their self-esteem and confidence. Temporary hair removal methods such as tweezing, waxing, depilatories and threading can actually increase hair growth. Electrolysis is the only proven method of permanent hair removal recognized by the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Electrolysis is effective almost anywhere on the body, facial hair, ears, hands, feet, underarms, breasts, abdomen, back and bikini area. It is effective on all hair colors, as well as all skin tones. Electrolysis and Teenage Girls The growing trend for smooth, hair free skin is here to stay, and teenagers are first in line when it comes to removing unwanted hair. Young girls compare with each other; one shaves, one sees an aesthetician for waxing while the other has the privilege of electrolysis. One question parents have is: At what age should we allow our teenage girls the option of removing unwanted hair and what method should she use? There is no ideal age to begin hair removal, although we do recommend waiting until she begins her menstrual cycle. Be sure to discuss hair removal options with your teen before they pick up a razor and shave all of the unwanted hair with unfortunate consequences. Razors, clippers, depilitary lotions and abrasives are readily accessible low-cost methods. It comes as no surprise that they are very popular with teens. However, they generally stimulate hair regrowth. Bleaching creams give the hair a yellowish color and open the hair scales, which increases its diameter. Waxing and plucking are two methods that provide slower hair regrowth, which to teens is very convenient. Hair regrowth is stimulated, regardless of the type of wax used: hard, soft, hot, cold, or even sugaring. Electroloepilation (Electrolysis) is, to date the only permanent hair removal method known to be effective on all skin and hair types, regardless of the treated area. With new technologies and the ultra rapid frequencys now at our disposal, we can offer teenagers highly effective treatments with hardly any feeling. We even offer insulated probes to protect the skins surface while providing extra comfort and effectiveness. In short, regardless of the selected hair removal mode, the most important thing is that our teenagers feel good about themselves. Why not let Elite Electrolysis work wonders for you. Become empowered with increased self-esteem and confidence.
Electrolysis -what it is and how it works. Electrology is the science of permanent hair removal. A tiny, sterile probe is skillfully inserted into the hair follicle along the hair shaft. This gentle insertion is not usually noticed by you because each hair pore will easily expand to allow the probe to slide in next to the hair. A slight impulse of electrical current is then applied through the probe to destroy the hair root and cauterize the blood supply to the hair. Once totally destroyed, there is no way for the follicle to produce another hair.
Electrolysis and Pregnancy There are no known side effects in the history of electrolysis (132 years) to the unborn child/mother. It is not recommended to work on the navel area after the six month. I do and have treated pregnant women with no issues. However I do recommend as with any treatment while pregnant that you consult with your physician and follow his/her advice.
The Endocrine System and Glands responsible for Hair Growth Endocrine System- Major body system that "coordinates" and "integrates" many body processors, by releasing chemical messages called "hormones". Endocrine Glands- Known as glands of "internal secretion" ductless glands made up of epithelial tissue. Hormones are directly released into the bloodstream. (intended for educational purposes only, not intended to diagnose any condition. See your Doctor for medical advice.) 4 Glands responsible for hair growth are: 1. Adrenal- 2 sm triangular shaped glands set atop the kidneys with 2 distinct regions. Cortex(outerportion) responsible for hair production. Both men/women cortex secretes sm. amount of male sex hormones and testosterone. Hormones produced by the cortex are as follows: Corticosteroid Hormones- Cortisol, Cortisone, Hydrocortisone Action- Regulates carbs/proteins/metabolism, aids in prevention of joint inflammation, reduction of stress and prevents severe allergic reaction. Sex Steroids-Estrogen, Progesterone, Androgens (testosterone) Action- Sexual development. Conditions specific to the Adrenal Cortex- Addisons Disease, Cushings Syndrome, Adrenal Hyperplasia, Andinogenital Syndrome, Archard Thiers 2. Thyroid- butterfly shaped w/2 lobes joined in the middle by an isthmus just below the larnyx/ voice box, on both sides of the windpipe. Hormone-Thyroxin Action- Regulates metabolism and increases oxygen consuption(maintains body tempeature) Condition/ Syndrome- Cretism(children) hypothyrodism (undersecretion),Myxedema(adults) hypothyroidism (undersecretion), Graves Disease- hyperthyroidism(oversecretion) both hypo/hyperthyroidism cause thyroid to enlarge, (goiter). Hypothyroidism (undersecretion) causes excessive hair growth in a male pattern. (between breasts, over belly button) 3. Ovaries- walnut shaped located in the lower abdomen Endocrine function of the ovaries( release the egg) Oversecretion-Obesity, infertility Undersecretion-Masculinity, male pattern hair growth, infertility Hormones-Estrogen/ Progesterone Action-Development of female characteristics/reproduction, repairs uterus after menstruation, aids in development of uterine lining. Condition/Syndrome- PCOS- (polycystic ovarian syndrome) lack of or abnormal periods, uterin bleeding which causes incomplete development of follicle (eggs don't develop), obesity, male pattern hair growth, (beard, breasts, chest, over belly button etc.) 4. Pituitary-Pea shaped location sella turcia(base of brain) 3 lobes- Anterior(front), intermediate(middle), posterior(back) Anterior Lobe is resposible for hair growth so we won't touch on the other 2. Hormones of Anterior lobe- There are 5 hormones associated with the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland, we will explain only the 3 hormones that could be responsible for hair growth. 1. ACTH (Adrenocorticotropic) Action-Regulates adrenal cortex to secrete hormones 2. Gonadatropins a) (FSH) follicle stimulating hormone, Action-Stimulates sperm production, estrogen production, stimulates follicle to produce the egg b)(LH) lutenizing hormone Action- Stimulates androgen production, further develops the egg/stimulates ovulation and secretion of progesterone(male hormones) Condition/Syndrome- Undersecretion of either(FSH) or (LH) could cause infertiliy/sterility 3. (TSH) Thyroid stimulating hormone Action- Regulates/stimulates thyroid gland Condition/Syndrome- Undersecretion(hypothyroidism) Cretism(children), Myxedema(adults) causes excessive hair growth in a male pattern. (between breasts, over belly button). Oversecretion(hyperthyroidism) causes Graves Disease, both under and oversecretion of (TSH) cause the thyroid to enlarge (goiter).
| TREATMENTS are individually tailored ............ |
Minimum Discomfort The majority of clients experience little discomfort with electrolysis treatment. Certain areas of the body are more sensitive than others. Procedure Permanent results are acomplished by guiding an ultra fine "disposable" needle into the natural opening of the hair follicle. This needle directs a measured amount of current into the hair follicle causing cellular destruction. Hair Growth Cycle Our goal in electrolysis treatment is to treat the hair while it is in the growing stage where the most cellular destruction is acomplished. Series of Treatments Electrolysis is a series of treatments which are necessary to achieve permanent results. Permanent Results The success of your treatments depends on your cooperation with your treatment schedule and my recommendations made to you as your Electrologist. After Treatment Redness may result from your treatment, this is temporary. I will give you post-treatment instructions.

Hair Growth Many factors may influence the way hair grows, including: sex, age, hormones, medications, genetic factors and the area of the body. The sum total of these factors regulate the rate of hair growth, length, color, coarseness and density. Many clients will often begin to notice growth of excess/ unwanted hair at the onset of puberty, during pregnancy or with certain medication use-including hormones, birth control and certain blood pressure regulating medication. Most often genetic predisposition is found to be responsible for the development of excess/ unwanted hair growth and it is usually not the result of a correctable medical problem or condition that can be changed by medication or surgery. Five Types of Hair: 1. Accelerated Vellus- Develops pigment/ becomes darker 2. Vellus Hair- fine, short, fluffy, covers most of the body 3. Lanugo Hair- Covers body of new borns, falls off before or after birth 4. Terminal- Longer coarser hair found on the head, faces of men, eyebrows, womans chin, deep hair follicles 5. Deep Terminal Hair- Deep seeded coarse, some facial hairs, pubic hairs, auxilla(underarms) Three Stages of Hair Growth: 1. Anagen- "active growing" best stage for cellular destruction. Best stage for Electrolysis. 2. Catagen- hair begins to separate from the dermal papilla (nutrition source). 3. Telogen- separated from the dermal papilla therefore it doesn't get enough "heat". A telogen hair will need to be treated again and will grow back more active. * When a hair is "plucked" ie: tweezing/ waxing it's pulled out from the dermal papilla which causes the body to react, sending increased blood supply to the follicle. This process also damages the follicle and creates darker, more coarse, and sometimes ingrown hairs. 5 Causes of Hair Growth: 1. Congenital- exists at birth 2. Systemic- affects the whole body normal-puberty, pregnancy, menopause abnormal-certain aquired infections, glandular defects, tumors, dietary deficiences, diseases 3. Topical- waxing, tweezing, friction, ultraviolet light, xrays, 4. Emotions- STRESS 5. Medical- certain medications, birth control, steroids
